Ethan C. Busby.
I’m an associate professor of political science at Brigham Young University, working at the intersection of political psychology and generative AI.
I helped found and now help direct SAIL, our AI research lab at BYU. My current research asks how to use AI to improve society generally and democracy specifically, with particular attention to productive disagreement, political influence, and democratic skills.
My wider research examines extremism, populism, partisan stereotypes, listening, and how elected officials respond to citizens.
